Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) sealed bar-cum-hotel Utkal INN near Garage Square in Bhubaneswar Sunday for violating weekend shutdown guidelines.
Notably, Odisha Government has strictly banned opening of any type of liquor shop, bars and hotels during the weekend shutdown period.

Sources said that the owner of the hotel had opened the bar, violating the weekend shutdown guidelines. Acting on a tip-off, BMC authorities sealed the bar-cum-hotel until further orders.
The raid operation was conducted simultaneously by the Commissionerate Police and BMC authorities.
Odisha Sunday registered the highest single-day spike of 2,924 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total tally in the state to 60,050. The death toll rose to 343 in the state as 10 more patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
Out of the 2,924 new cases, 488 cases were reported from Khurda district.
