Chitrada: Mayurbhanj fire brigade personnel recovered Thursday evening the bodies of two youths who had drowned a day earlier in the Jambhira river under Morada block of the district. The deceased have been identified as Buddheswar Majhi and Biram Marandi of Gandaguhali village. One of the bodies was recovered from the Shilada area while the other was found in the vicinity of Panchagochhia Ghat.

Buddheswar and Biram along with five other youths were swimming across the river to go to Baghajharan village on other side. They decided to swim to the other side to watch a football match. However, only five could swim across while Buddheswar and Biram met their watery grave.
Morada police have sent the bodies to Baripada PRM hospital for post-mortem. A probe has been launched by the police to find out the details of the accident.
Odisha Agro Industries Corporation chairperson Debasish Mohanty along with some prominent local residents visited the bereaved family and consoled them.
