Bodies of two men drowned in Koraput boat tragedy fished out, one still missing

Koraput: An Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team fished out the bodies of two men Tuesday evening who were identified to be Manoj Hantala and Prashant Khara after carrying out a frantic search operation in Jalaput Reservoir of Koraput district.

Another Chitra Khara is still missing in the capsized boat tragedy.

Notably, five men belonging to Padua village under this police limits and Lamataput block in Koraput district had gone missing in the reservoir two days back. The men had been enjoying a boat ride in the reservoir when the ill-fated country boat capsized here.

Even as two men managed to swim ashore, three others had gone missing. The survivor duo remained silent about the mishap fearing punishment till Monday afternoon. They revealed the entire incident before their families after being pressurised.

A team of 12 fire brigade and local police personnel were on search for the missing persons which is still underway.
