Pattamundai: The body of a man was found with his throat slit at Poipat area in Kendrapara district Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Prashant Rout, a local resident.
Some morning walkers spotted the body lying on the road in a pool of blood and they immediately informed the police.
A police team reached the spot along with a scientific team and started investigation.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased lodged a complaint with Pattamundai police alleging that he was murdered over past enmity.
“We have initiated our investigation from various angles including robbery and past enmity,” a police officer said.
