Bolangir: As COVID-19 pandemic outbreak is on the rise in Bolangir, the district administration clamped complete shutdown Thursday in order to prevent any probable spread of infection in the days ahead.
The shutdown will remain effective from August 8 to 11. Excepting essential vehicles, all other vehicular movements will be strictly disallowed during the period when shutdown remains in force, Bolangir district Collector Arindam Dakua informed.

All shops, markets, government and private offices will remain closed. However, essential services like medical, water supply and sanitation will be permitted. Movement of goods transporting vehicles, industrial units remaining open and carrying out of construction works will not come under the purview of shutdown restrictions, Dakua added.
Bolangir denizens can walk down the distance to nearby markets for purchasing essential commodities like medicine, milk, vegetable and grocery. The district administration has appealed residents to strictly abide by COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing norms.
