Bolangir: The Bandh called by various outfits in Bolangir town brought normal life to a grinding halt for the second day Friday.
In a bid to avoid the increasing road mishaps in the town, the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bolangir Militakriyanistan Committee and Bajrang Dal have called the Bandh in order to press their demand for construction of a bypass in the outskirts of the town which would also result in reducing various other problems faced by the denizens of the town.
While shops and other commercial establishments remained closed, commuters faced a harrowing time with transport services thrown out of gear for the second day.
In response to the Bandh, scores of protestors gathered on the streets in the morning.
A 12-hour bandh was jointly called by Bolangir Militakriyanistan committee, Congress along with AIDSO and ABVP activists Thursday following death of a Plus Two girl student in a road mishap Wednesday.
