Bolangir: In a meeting with district level officials, Bolangir MLA Narasingha Mishra Wednesday reviewed various ongoing projects at conference hall of the district project office.
Mishra discussed with works department engineers on the status of various roads under construction in the district. He also urged the engineers to expedite construction work of indoor and outdoor stadiums at Prithviraj High School ground.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in road work and asked officials to sort out the issues causing the delay. Mishra urged police officials to curb spread of narcotics which has come up as a growing menace in the town.
Revenue officials were asked to provide houses to the poor and landless people under various governmental schemes.
He asked officials to work for development of Bolangir town as well as rural areas of the district in coordination with one another.
Even as the Laxmi Jor bridge is in its final phase, encroachment problems have delayed the completion. Sub-collector Sanjaya Mishra assured to clear all encroachments with the assistance of local police.
Furthermore, it was discussed to identify lands for a truck terminal, private and government bus stands for effective traffic control.
The town planning officer was directed to put a check to illegally growing businesses in and around Bolangir town.
Mishra suggested in the meeting that the town needs an auditorium and necessary planning for it should be initiated.
District Collector Arindam Dakua and other senior officials attended the meeting.
