Bomb hurled at BJD Khurda block chairman’s house

Khurda:  BJD’s Khurda block chairman Prakash Routray had a narrow escape from a bomb attack at Saturday 2.30 am.

Unidentified miscreants hurled two crude bombs at the house of Prakash when the family was sleeping.

They also opened few rounds of fire at the house. Some portions of the house got damaged in the attack.

Police reached Sunday morning, seized splinters and some pieces of thread, and launched an investigation taking various angle including past enmity and political rivalry into account.

The first bomb was hurled at about 2.30 am and Prakash opened the gate to find out the cause of the sound.

Before he could understand anything, two bombs were hurled at him. The miscreants also fired at him. However, Prakash escaped the bid on his life.
