Bhubaneswar: Miscreants, including a bus owner, hurled hand-made bombs at a hotel at the new bus stand in Baramunda area here late Sunday night. Police has started an investigation into the matter by registering a case (60/23) on the basis of complaint lodged by hotel owner, Niranjan Patra.
As per the complaint, the accused bus owner along with his friend came to the hotel to have their dinner Sunday evening at around 10 pm. Meanwhile, the accused engaged in heated argument with the hotel staff and Patra’s brother over some food items and dues pending for the last several months.
The issue was subsequently sorted out following the intervention of locals.
However, the accused persons who bore a grudge later came along with some more of their associates and threw bombs at the hotel and the staffers at around 12.30 am at night. Three people sustained severe injuries in the attack and are getting treated at a private hospital.
Police have detained one of accused till the last report came in.
