Sambalpur: In a shocking development, police recovered four country-made bombs from a ganjaladen vehicle at Khinda Square under Thelkoli police limits in this district, late Sunday night. An entry pass of Uttar Pradesh state Assembly and several vehicle registration number plates were also seized from the vehicle. However, two occupants of the vehicle managed to escape before the police could catch them. The vehicle was thoroughly searched in the presence of a magistrate and 50kg of ganja was found inside. A bomb defusing squad and sniffer dogs were also pressed into the service and the bombs were later defused.
Police seized the vehicle and launched further investigations. The breakthrough came during checking of vehicles at Khinda Square, late Sunday night. A vehicle (OR-02R-BR-7070) was passing by the road when police tried to intercept it. The occupants of the vehicle noticed the policemen and fled dumping it on the roadside. Suspecting some foul play, police searched the vehicle and found four bombs, contraband items, entry pass of Uttar Pradesh Assembly and several number plates. Till reports last came in, search and investigation were underway.
