Boudh: The deputy director of agriculture (DDA) of this district, Manoranjan Mallick was killed after the Bolero he was travelling in turned turtle on Khurda-Bolangir National Highway-57 at Radhanagar village Wednesday night. His driver and peon suffered critical injuries. They have been identified Harishankar Padhi and Chakradhar Patra. The deceased DDA was a resident of Cuttack town.
According to information available, Mallick was returning from Bhubaneswar to Boudh with Padhi behind the wheel when the accident occurred. The vehicle dashed against half-cut roadside tree and overturned near Radhanagar.
The injured were rushed to the Boudh district hospital. When their conditions deteriorated they were shifted to VIMSAR, Burla.
On being informed, Boudh police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
