Giving the farmers a dole of mere Rs 17 a day for their hard toil is nothing but an insult to them. This is real face

Bhubaneswar: The state leadership of the Congress party in Odisha Friday dubbed the Interim Budget 2019 as “disappointing” and said that it had nothing for the youths and was an insult to the farmers.
Speaking to the media after the BJP-led government at the Centre presented the Interim Budget Friday, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik said, “The entire Budget is worrisome. It rarely talks about the youth. The farmers have been insulted and de-motivated by this Budget.”
He went on to add, “For long, the Narendra Modi government had been boasting about its four-and-a-half year rule, but their claims have proved to be hollow. Have are hopelessly trying to please the farmers with a meager dole of Rs 17 per day. If they are giving Rs 6,000 for a year it comes down to Rs 17 per day. Giving Rs 17 a day for the hard toil is nothing but an insult to them. This is real face.”
The OPCC president also said that there had never been such a disappointing Budget in the history of the country that hardly offered anything to the youth, farmers and the other sections of the society.
Niranjan also said that although the Budget hardly addressed the important issues faced by the country and its people, the only evident relief was the tax relief to people earning up to Rs 5 lakh per annum.
