Businessman looted at gun point in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 15, 000 from a businessman at gunpoint near the Sai temple on Mining square-Dimbo road in this town late Thursday night.

Sources said, like any other day Dillip Kumar Behera, a resident of Dimbo village, downed the shutter of his cement shop and while returning home on his bike, he was waylaid by two bike borne miscreants near Sai temple, with one of them pointing a pistol at him. They were riding a Pulsar bike bearing Jharkhand registered number.

Seeing the pistol, a terrified Dillip stopped his bike. The next moment, one of the miscreants came up to him and asked for money, putting the pistol on his head and a sharp weapon on his belly.

When Dillip replied that he was not carrying any money with him, the miscreants forcibly frisked him and decamped with Rs 15, 000 after attacking him on his hand and belly with the sharp weapon.

The villagers who were returning their village overheard the commotion and rushed to Dillip’s rescue. But by that time, the miscreants had already left the spot. They rescued him and rushed him to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital (DHH).

After receiving treatment, Dillip lodged a police complaint. On the basis of Dillip’s compliant we have started an investigation. A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits, sealing the exit and entry points,” said town police station IIC Somnath Jena.
