Mumbai: Actor Rajit Kapur, who essayed the fictional detective character Byomkesh Bakshi in an eponymous TV series, hopes that the upcoming Bollywood film “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!” will showcase a new angle to film lovers. Rajit had played the title role in the 1993 television adaptation of stories of Byomkesh Bakshi, created by Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. “I played the character of Byomkesh Bakshi 20 years ago. It’s (the film ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’) a new vision of a new generation. It is new perspective and new thinking of new generation. So, let’s see,” said Rajit at an event here Friday.
“Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy” stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role and it is slated to release April 3, 2015.
