Paradip: A car was hit and dragged for nearly 30 metres by a goods train inside Paradip port’s restricted zone Monday, a source said.
The source informed that the people inside the car averted a tragedy as the train was at a low speed when the incident took place at Mechanical Coal Handling Plant (MCHP) canteen. The vehicle was partially damaged in the accident.
Though the mishap is suspected to have taken place due to the car driver’s fault, the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, the source added.
Following the accident, CISF officials from Paradip Port’s traffic department reached the spot and cleared the track.
