Simulia: Cattle trafficking has come to the fore again in Balasore as a container carrying cattle faced an accident on NH-16, a few metres from Simulia police station, Sunday. Two of the cattle died while 37 others were rescued. Eight cattle were wounded.
Police sent the cattle to Rudrashram Goshala at Maitapur.
The container bound to Kolkata lost its control and collided with another vehicle. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the cattle. Police suspect it to be an illegal truck as the vehicle does not have a permit. The vehicle had no number plate on its rear end, sources said.
