Cattle trader robbed of Rs 10 lakh

Bugude: Bike-borne miscreants beat up a cattle trader black and blue and decamped with Rs 10 lakh from him in broad daylight at Andharisankha in Udayapur village under this police limits in Ganjam district Thursday.

The trader was identified as G Bairagi at Ambagaon village in Patrapur under Jarada police limits.

On being informed, police SI Prakash Kumar Sahu rushed to the spot with his team and started an investigation. Bairagi was rescued in an injured condition and admitted to the Buguda community health centre

The incident occurred when Bairagi was on his way to meet some people in Balagaon village under Nayagarh police limits with Rs 30 lakh towards payment for buffaloes that he had purchased from them few days back.

He was on his way to make the payment when three miscreants following him from rear waylaid him at Andharisankha. Scared, he got down from his bike when the miscreants assaulted him black and blue. Later they snatched Rs 10 lakh from a bag Bairage was carrying and a mobile phone from him and fled the scene.
