Kendrapara: A six-member CBI team led by  Satyanarana Chinnam of the bureau’s unit based at Bhubaneswar Saturday searched Sayed Brothers’ Filling Station, owned by Benezir Bibi, wife of gangster Sayed Ushman Ali alias Tito, in Badahat here.

CBI personnel took a photo of the filling station, but failed to conduct more inquiries as the unit had been locked and sealed by the Special Task Force (STF), of Bhubaneswar.

The CBI would write a letter to STF to provide detailed documents of the filling station.

The other CBI officials who were in the team were SK Acharya (PI, CBI, ACB, BBSR), BK Sahu (PC, CBI, ACB, BBSR), V Satish, Gurucharan Behera and Banshidhar Muduli.

The CBI has been probing the irregularities in the allotment of two retail outlets, M/s Sayed Brothers’ Filling Station at Badahat and the adhoc dealership of the COCO unit in Paradip, to Tito’s family.

July 18, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) sought a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the allotment of two retail outlets to the gangster’s family following a direction from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

IOCL had found that both the outlets were commissioned violating guidelines.
