Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made several changes to the marking pattern for the board examinations conducted by it.
These changes will be implemented from this year for the students of class X, XII. The exams will commence from February 2020.
CBSE has issued a new circular with the new passing marks pattern described. According to the circular, the students of class X have to score at least 33 per cent in practical and theory in every subject in order to clear the exam.
For the students of class XII, the students need to score a minimum 33 per cent marks in practical, theory and assessment separately in order to pass. For students to clear the board, it is mandatory to score 23 marks in subjects with 70 marks and 26 in subjects with 80 marks.
CBSE has released the schedule for Class X and XII practical exams on its official website www.cbse.nic.in. The practicals will be conducted between January 1 and February 7.
In the theoretical subjects, students will need to submit an internal assessment carrying 20 marks. Out of the 20 marks dedicated to assessments, students need to score a minimum of six marks.
The detailed information about the new pattern has been sent to schools. Now, the schools will have to conduct pre-board examination on this pattern so that students will be able to prepare for the board examination.
CBSE has instructed all the schools to conduct X and XII pre-board examinations between December 16 and 30. The time table for the same has also been released.
The board circular has declared that marks of students uploaded by their respective schools will be considered final for the board results and no requests for further rectifications will be accepted.
