Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Shripad Naik has said that the Centre is ‘unable’ to sanction an Ayush Hospital at Balasore as the Odisha government is yet to submit the physical and financial progress reports of previously approved projects by the Ayush Ministry.
Naik, the Union Ayush Minister, informed the Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan about this in a letter to him.
Earlier, Pradhan in a letter to Naik had drawn his attention as to why Ayush Ministry was not sanctioning the proposed Ayush Hospital at Balasore.
Copies of both the letters written by Naik and Pradhan were released to the press here Friday.
The Ayush Ministry had sanctioned Rs 5 crore during 2016-17 and Rs 3 crore during 2017-18 for setting up of two units of 50-bedded integrated Ayush Hospital in Dhenkanal and Berhampur respectively, Naik said.
As the Odisha government has not submitted earlier documents, Naik said “therefore, Mission Directorate of National Ayush Mission has suggested that the state government first utilise the previous sanctioned amount and submit the progress report to the Ministry of Ayush.”
He further said, “The state government may project the proposal of setting up of up to 50-bedded integrated Ayush Hospital at Balasore through State Annual Action Plan as per NAM guidelines to Ministry of Ayush.”
