Centre enrolls 840 higher educational institutes in UBA

New Delhi: The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Tuesday enrolled another 840 higher educational institutes in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) as a part of celebrations to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

According to a statement by the MHRD, around 13 institutes from Odisha, including CV Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar, Gandhi Institute of Technological Advancement, Bhubaneswar, Sri Sri University, Cuttack and Ramadevi Woman’s University, Bhubaneswar are enrolled in UBA.

It added out of 840, 521 are technical institutes while 319 are non-technical ones.

Notably, the UBA is coordinated and steered by IIT Delhi. It involves engaging with neighbouring communities and using technologies for their development.

MHRD officials said 688 institutes selected in phase 1 of UBA are involved in various activities aimed to benefit rural India which includes field visits, house to house survey, identifying the needs of the rural masses and developing technology to improve their lives.
