New Delhi, June 21: The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) Thursday announced changes in the guidelines for selection of teachers for National Teacher’s Award.
The ministry said that from the next session besides the state, government schools can also nominate teachers for the national award. For nominations a new online system would replace the existing system.
As per the new system, Odisha has been given powers to nominate six teachers annually which would later be scrutnised by authorities for the National Teacher’s Award.
A release from the ministry said, “The HRD Ministry has issued fresh guidelines for selection of teachers for national awards. Teachers of government schools can now send their entries directly for the National Award. This is a new initiative as earlier entries were selected by state governments.”
