Bhubaneswar: Irate mob thrashed two chain snatchers black and blue in Bhubaneswar Wednesday after the son of the victim managed to stop their escape attempt.
According to the police, Subrat Ojha and his mother Manorama Ojha were travelling in an auto-rickshaw on Canal Road near Rasulgarh area under Mancheswar police limits at about 3:30pm when three bike-borne miscreants came out of nowhere and snatched a gold chain from Manorama and started to flee on a motorcycle.
Subrat, meanwhile, gave them a chase and managed to pull the motorcycle to a side making the robbers fall.
While one of them managed to escape, the public joined by Subrat managed to get hold of the other two. Irate locals thrashed both the miscreants before handing them over to police.
The entire episode was captured on a CCTV camera.
The cops have arrested both accused and seized the motorcycle used in the crime.
