Champua: As the BJP is conducting its ‘Jabab Maguchhi Odisha’ programme in all parts of the state to woo voters ahead of the coming general elections, Kusa Apat, a leader from Champua area in Keonjhar district, has come back to the BJD along with his supporters.
Kusa’s return has come as a shot in the arm for the BJD in the Champua constituency, the turf of controversial MLA Sanatan Mahakud.
Kusa has started visiting panchayats along with his supporters. Reports said that around 10,000 people of nine panchayats joined hands with him at a meeting held on Kasipal Grounds.
Political observers say that Kusa could be one of the leading aspirants for the BJD ticket in Champua to counter Mahakud.
He has been trying to woo people, and has been making the public aware about the state government’s development projects.
Many local leaders like Ashish Chakravorty, Patna MLA Hrushikesh Nayak, Mardhab Sardar, Nisar Hayat, Sambit Pradhan, Priyanath Pati, Subash Ram, Giridhari Nayak and Kapil Pasayat attended the meeting, and spoke about the schemes being implemented by the government for farmers.
