Bhadrak: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) legislator from Chandbali Assembly constituency segment in Bhadrak district Byomakesh Ray allegedly threatened a police officer over phone.
An audio clip of his conversation with the cop has gone viral on social media.
According to a source, Ray had a telephonic conversation with assistant sub-inspector of Bansada police station Gurucharan Behera.

Ray was heard pressurising Behera to arrest some people in connection with a group clash in the viral audio. Ray also threatened the cop to transfer him to Motu area of Maoist-infested Malkangiri in case the official fails to follow his instructions.
“You know about the political problems in the locality, but you are intentionally aggravating them. You must have heard about Motu. I will hold talks with the DG (Director General) of police and dump you there,” the Chandbali MLA was heard saying in the viral audio.
Ray also warned the cop of ‘staying within his limits’. The legislator was heard asking Behera whether his mobile phone had voice recording feature apprehending that the audio clip might be intentionally leaked which will land Ray in trouble.
Notably, Ray has admitted his conversation with Behera, but declined to comment on the issue. On the other hand, the ASI from Mayurbhanj said he will work with the same sincerity wherever he is posted.
