Bhubaneswar: Renowned chef Vikas Khanna became the talk of the town for unveiling a replica of the Konark Temple Wheel in Times Square, New York, on occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day. He recently visited Odisha at the invitation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
While touring, he tasted a number of Odia cuisines, and was mesmerised by mouth-watering delicacies; his expressions said it all.
In one of the videos, Khanna was seen asking about the ingredients of the famous street food ‘Dahibara Aloo Dum’. The celebrity chef seemed to be relishing every bite.
We can’t disagree with the celebrity chef. If all street foods from Odisha are ranked based on their popularity, ‘Dahibara Aloo Dum’ might emerge as the jewel in the crown.
Soon after his return, Khanna recreated the Odia street food in Mumbai.
While sharing it, he wrote, “Recreation of one of my favorite foods from Odisha. #DahiBaraAlooDum”
A magical culinary delight with the most talented Chef De Cuisine @reenasamby at amazing SOMA restaurant @grandhyattmumbai.
Thank you @abimilano @jitendra_films @odishatourismofficial @arvindpadhee.
In the video, Khanna shared the whole process, starting from dahibara to garnishing onions. Soon after sharing, netizens asked him about the key item, which is ‘ghoogni’. Another netizen thanked him for promoting Odia culture.
The Instagram post has garnered over 27,000 likes since it was uploaded a day ago.
