Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik extended his greetings and best wishes to people on the auspicious occasion of Holi.
He took to his twitter handle and posted a video message.
“All of us are passing through a difficult period due to COVID-19. In order to keep yourself and your family members safe, celebrate Holi at home this year,” he said.
Notably, the State government has already put restrictions on the celebration of Dola Purnima and Holi.
In this regard, Chief Secretary S C Mohaptra had issued an order March 19. “Holi (March 28 & 29) and their related rituals shall not be observed in public places throughout the state. People may celebrate Holi with family members in their houses only and not in any public places including public roads,” read the order.
Similarly, the district collectors and municipal commissioners have been advised to impose any further restrictions as desirable in consideration of local situations.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also stipulated some extra restrictions applicable in areas coming under the BMC.
