Child artiste Animesh plays Good Samaritan for neglected kids

Baripada: Animesh Ghose of Baripada is known as a child artiste in the Odia cine world, but few know that he contributes all his earnings from acting for welfare of the neglected and wretched kids.

He came to the limelight in 2015 when he was honoured by the Union women and child development ministry with a National Child Award.

Born to Sujata Ghose and Ansuman Ghose at Raghunathpur, Animesh started acting at the age of six. He was always encouraged by his parents.

“I was fond of watching TV when I was very small. I always wished I would be acting in TV. I grew up developing my acting skills all by watching TV. Finally, my dream was realized. Now, acting has become my passion,” said the child artiste.

Animesh studies in Class-VII. He has never learnt acting formally. With that experience, he has been making progress towards his goal.

He has displayed his acting prowess in over 25 Odia films. Among his Odia films are Something Something, Matric Fail, Tu Mo Dehara Chhai, Kehi Jane Bhala Lage Re and SP Sagarika.

His two other films – Isk Puni Thare and Prem Kumar- are awaiting release at Ganesh Puja and Durga Puja respectively.

Apart from acting, he has been playing roles in advertisements. What is most commendable about Animesh is his social service. He has formed Animesh Trust and all the money he gets as prizes is spent on neglected and orphaned children.

Animesh claims actor Anubhab Mohanty is his ideal. However, he aims to be an IAS officer. But he says that he will never give up acting.
