Chiranjeevi’s advice to Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan: Stay away from politics

Chiranjeevi

Hyderabad: They are all megastars of the South Indian film industry – Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. It is the dream of every director to bring them together for a film. As of now however, that doesn’t even look remotely possible.

However, politics has united all the three with both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth jumping into the political bandwagon way after Chiranjeevi. Hence Chiranjeevi has a word of caution for them.

It is not worth being in politics if you are a sensitive human being, Chiranjeevi has said, in a message to both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. His suggestion to both the star-turned-politicians is ‘stay away from politics’.

In an interview to a Tamil magazine, Chiranjeevi said he was ‘No.1 in his movie career when he decided to take the plunge into politics with the intention of ‘doing good’.

“Politics today is all about money and I was defeated in my own constituency using crore of rupees. Same happened to my brother Pawan Kalyan in the recent elections,” Chiranjeevi was quoted as saying.

“To be in politics you need to face defeat, disappointments and humiliation. I hope that both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan would be able to face all challenges, disappointments, if they are determined to stay on in politics and work for the people,” added the superstar of the Telegu movie industry.

Chiranjeevi said he had hoped Kamal Hassan would do well in the recent parliamentary elections but unfortunately that did not happen. Kamal Haasan himself did not contest and his party did not win any seat. Rajinikanth has not yet formed a political party or contested an election.

It should be mentioned here that Chiranjeevi had formed his ‘Praja Rajyam Party’ in Andhra Pradesh’s in August 2008. In the 2009 Assembly elections to the state, his party won 18 of the 294 seats. He contested from two places, Tirupati and his hometown Palacole. However, he lost in both constituencies.
