CHSE Odisha announces Plus-II Science, Commerce results; Girls outshine boys

Bhubaneswar: The results of Plus-II Science and Commerce examinations were announced by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha Wednesday at 11 am.

The overall pass percentage stood at 84.93 per cent and 81.12 per cent for Science and Commerce streams respectively.

Notably, girls outshone boys in the examinations. In Science stream, 85.67 per cent of girls cleared the examinations as compared to 84.28 per cent of boys. Of the total 92,950 students who sat for the examinations, as many as 78,938, comprising 42,121 boys and 36,817 girls in the Science stream, became eligible for higher studies.

Similarly, in Commerce stream, 83.87 per cent of girls came through the examinations as compared to 79.52 per cent of boys. As many as 24,082 students had appeared for the examinations in the Commerce stream in 2023.

As per results, Nayagarh district emerged as having the highest percentage of students who cleared both Science (96.41 per cent) and Commerce (93.9 per cent) streams across the state.

The lowest percentage of passed candidates was recorded in Gajapati district (61.55 per cent) in Science stream and Boudh district (55.55 per cent) in Commerce stream.

As many as 39,573 students got first division; 24,257 students got second division and 14,852 students got third division in Science stream.

As per Commerce results, about 7,410 got first division; 4,543 students got second division and 7,492 candidates passed with third division in the examinations.

The results for Plus-II Arts examination will be declared later.

It can be mentioned here that this year nearly 3.5 lakh students appeared in the Plus-II examinations in Odisha. The evaluation process of the answer papers began April 10.
