Bhubaneswar: Housing & Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena Tuesday said all the City parks, including Biju Patnaik Park, Indira Gandhi Park, Mahatama Gandhi Park, Madhusudan Park and Budhha Jayanti Park, will undergo renovation and would be developed as India’s most beautiful parks.
This was revealed at a review meeting chaired by the minister here Tuesday where he held discussions with Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) officials who presented their plans before the minister.
As per plan, the parks will have digital boards, sound system, food and beverage kiosk, restaurant, cafeteria, ladies’ corner and other facilities. Forest trail will be introduced at Budha Jayanti Park only.
This apart, every park will have yoga instructors for the yoga enthusiasts.
To further push the green initiative of the government, saplings and organic manure will be available for sale at these parks, said Pratap Jena.
Weekly events will be organised at the parks with the help of event management companies. Multiple events like yoga, musical nites, art, theatre, children games, community gardening , poetry, film nights and others will be organised.
Jena instructed the officials to extend the walking path in the parks to five to six feet to allow more walkers to use the space. This apart, he asked them to plant shrubs in all the parks and assigned authorised agencies to do landscaping at the parks.
BDA chairman Prem Chandra Chaudhary said all the work in the parks will be completed by November 15 2019.
