Bhubaneswar: If things go as per plan, the Capital city will have three more police outposts in March this year.
The Commissionerate Police has finally got the approval of opening three new police outposts at Pandra, VSS Nagar and Salia Sahi under Zone V of Bhubaneswar police district.
Addressing a Police-Public interface here Wednesday, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said, “At present the cops would operate from rented houses as permanent sheds have not been built. Establishment of three new outposts was on the agenda for long. These are sensitive spots which need a better police presence.”
Drug peddling and other crimes committed by addicts has been a major concern for the public and the police, said Mohanty adding, “We have strengthened our strategy to deal with this menace.”
