Jajpur: In a shocking incident, a Class X girl was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by two youths for more three days at a village under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district.
The matter came to the fore after the girl was rescued Saturday by police following the complaint by her mother. She was sent for a medical examination, wherein the doctors confirmed that the victim was gangraped.
The police swung into action and arrested the two accused in this connection. They have been identified as Santosh Jena (23) and his aide Ado Khan (22). The two were produced in court Sunday and remanded in judicial custody after the court rejected their bail pleas.
According to available information, the incident occurred while the schoolgirl was on her way to school Wednesday. On some pretext, the two youths of a neighbour village called her to an isolated area and kidnapped her.
They had then kept her in a house where they were outraging her modesty. The accused duo would have continued raping the girl if the police would not have conducted raids and arrested them.
Initially, family members thought she might have gone to a relative’s house. However, they grew apprehensive after the girl did not return home for two days and lodged a missing persons’ complaint with Binjharpur police.
After receiving the complaint, police conducted several raids and rescued the girl from a house in a critical condition.
The victim narrated that the two accused kidnapped while she was on her way to school and were raping since Wednesday.
Acting on his ordeal, police registered a case of gangrape and sent the girl for a medical examination.
“The medical examination of the girl has been conducted. In her statement, she alleged that the youths kidnapped and sexually assaulted her,” Binjharpur SDPO Prashant Kumar Malla informed.
