Bhubaneswar: A senior clerk in the district treasury office in Jharsuguda district was arrested by vigilance sleuths for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from a man.
The clerk had demanded the amount from the complainant Friday for release of the payment towards gratuity dues of his late father, a Vigilance Department release said.
The bribe money was recovered from the office table drawer of the clerical worker and seized in presence of witnesses, it said, adding, his residential house at Jharsuguda Town was also searched.
The matter is under investigation.
