Keonjhar: A family living in a ‘kutcha’ house had a narrow escape during the wee hours of Sunday when a truck rammed into it. The accident took place near Dhenkikote market in Keonjhar district.
The driver of the truck fled the spot immediately after the mishap. Keonjhar police has seized the truck and detained its owner for questioning. A hunt has been launched to nab the accused driver.
According to a source, the vehicle was heading to a mine in Keonjhar and rammed into the kutcha house as the driver lost control over the steering at around 3 am.
A sudden explosion-like sound had the family wake up from sleep and rush to their safety, said the family members. A portion of the house was completely damaged, they added.
Further investigation is underway.
