CM announces aid for childcare institutions

Bhubaneswar: As part of 5T (team work, technology, transparency, transformation and time limit) initiative, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday announced financial aid for all childcare institutions across the state.
Naveen made the announcement after receiving feedback from inmates of SoS Village – a childcare institute of Bhubaneswar, which he visited this Diwali.

The Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, other senior officers and Collectors who had visited various childcare institutions had given their feedback.

Summing up the inputs, Patnaik announced a financial package of `10 lakh for each district to support and provide humanitarian intervention to local childcare institutions.

As per the decisions, district Red-Cross societies will receive `10 lakh each for this purpose. To meet additional requirements of districts like Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Balasore, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Sambalpur, the government has announced additional `10 lakh for each of these districts.

The amount will be granted from CMRF and other sources. It has been done in view of the welfare and comfort of inmates of various childcare institutions in the state, said a statement issued by CMO, Wednesday.

The Chief Minister had earlier directed ministers and senior officers visiting districts to take lunch at these institutions along with the children and discuss their well-being.
