Bhubaneswar: Expressing grief over the road mishap in Kandhamal district which claimed 13 lives and left many others injured, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2,00,000 each for next of kin of deceased. He also said that those injured will be provided free treatment and wished them speedy recovery.
Notably, 13 persons lost their lives and more than 25 others were critically injured after a mini-truck carrying passengers plunged into a gorge after the driver lost control near Brahmanigaon area under Daringbadi police limits in Kandhamal district.
The truck was on its way to Brahmanigaon from Gadapur carrying the victims for an event. The injured ones have been admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for treatment.
