The birthday of Lord Ganesh, son of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati, is celebrated as Ganesh Chaturthi. He was born on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in month of Bhadraba.
This year, the puja of Bighnaraj, is a low key affair due to coronavirus pandemic. While all the puja mandaps are bearing a deserted look, educational institutions are observing the puja sans students. Notably, some mandaps have decided to take up social service activities with the aid of their puja funds.
