Keonjhar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday inaugurated Dharanidhar Medical College and Hospital (MCH) to facilitate advanced healthcare service in Keonjhar district.
Dharanidhar MCH is built under 5T initiative of Odisha Government at a cost of Rs 381 Crore, as per a source in the government.
The inaugurated MCH is built over an area of 44 acres of land and has 100 MBBS seats with 22 teaching departments, the source said.
In the first batch for the academic session 2022-23, out of the 100 enrolled students in the MCH, 39 are from state government schools in Odisha.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Naveen also inaugurated and laid foundations for 259 developmental projects worth Rs. 4700 crore in Keonjhar district.
Additionally, Chief Minister sanctioned 14,372 Self Help Groups (SHG) interest-free loans worth Rs 378 crore. About 1,58,655 SHG members in the district will be benefitted from this allocation.
It can be added here that the state government February 12 granted University status to Dharanidhar Autonomous College in Keonjhar district.
