Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday remembered his father Biju Patnaik, rightly remembered as the Tall Man of Odisha on his 103rd birth anniversary.
Many political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the ‘Kalinga Sandha’ cum-legendary statesman Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary (5 March 1916- 17 April, 1997).
The CM took to Twitter and wrote, “I offer my tributes to the Hero of Odisha, freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of the State Biju Babu. He has inspired all classes of society and has contributed to education, textile and industry.” He also paid floral tributes to Biju Babu’s statue in Biju Patnaik Park.

He also paid floral tributes near the statue of Biju Patnaik at the Forest Park here.
Modi praised Biju Babu’s noteworthy efforts for Odisha’s development and numerous measures taken by him for empowerment of poor people.
He tweeted, “Remembering Biju Babu on his Jayanti. His noteworthy efforts for Odisha’s development continue to be cherished by generations. He undertook numerous measures for empowerment of the poor and marginalised during his long years in public service.”
