CM rolls out 18 projects worth Rs 2,196 crore

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday laid the foundation stones for 14 industrial units and inaugurated four other investment projects which will collectively create jobs for 3,465 people.

Patnaik performed the ground-breaking-cum- inauguration ceremony at the secretariat here through video conferencing. Through these 18 projects, the state will get a total investment of Rs 2196.30 crore.

Odisha’s vision is to become the manufacturing hub of the east. Through Vision 2025 for industrial development, we had devised an action plan to bring more manufacturing investments to provide higher employment opportunities to our people. The state government is working towards ensuring that the investment intents get converted into actual investments, the CM said.

“I am happy to note that GO-SWIFT, the online single window portal, has received 600 industrial project applications in just over 14 months, which translates to almost two new proposals every working day. This is an incredible achievement for Odisha,” Patnaik said.

“Our government is committed to create three million additional jobs by 2025 through investment in six new focus sectors,” the CM further added. He said the state has, so far, received more than 100 project proposals since ‘Make in Odisha Conclave 2018’.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, who was also present, appealed concerned departments to ensure expeditious resolution of issues and grievances of all large as well as MSME enterprises in the state through the ‘Industry Care’ framework.

Key projects included 1.5 MTPA cement grinding unit of Emami Cement, 4 MTPA iron ore pelletisation plant of Narbheram Power and Steel Private Limited, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd’s expansion of non-alcoholic beverage plant and a new unit of Hindalco Solar.
