Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Saturday sanctioned 700 projects worth Rs 19.43 crore for 88 Gram Panchayats (GPs) of four blocks under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme.
The four blocks are Bisra and Rajgangpur in Sundargarh, Polsara in Ganjam and Odapada in Dhenkanal district.
The elected representatives of the GPs and the villagers presented the developmental schemes of their localities before the CM, who accorded his approval and sanctioned requisite funds.
Of the sanctioned amount, Rs 3 crore has been allocated for 114 projects in 14 panchayats under Bisra block while Rs 5 crore will be spent on 149 projects in 20 panchayats under Rajgangpur block.
Likewise, Rs 6.50 crore has been sanctioned for execution of 246 projects in 26 panchayats under Polsara block of Ganjam and Rs 4.93 crore will be spent for implementation of 191 projects in 28 panchayats under Odapada block of Dhenkanal.
The chief minister has till date sanctioned Rs 319.02 crore for execution of 12,225 rural projects for 53 blocks in the state.
“All the money that has been allocated is for the people of Odisha,” said the CM. He advised the people and block representatives to ensure quality work and timely completion of the projects. The villagers and the representatives thanked the CM for approval of the projects.
