Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to kick start the ‘Mu Hero’ campaign of the state government Monday from Cuttack to bring into limelight the change makers and local real heroes from the different nook and corners of the state.
The CM will inaugurate and launch the campaign from Cuttack and it will be replicated to other districts of the state. Earlier, all district Collectors were asked by the state government to identify the real heroes from different parts of the state. Under the programme, the local change agents, who brought change at the community level, would be identified and felicitated as a mark of recognition to the services they rendered to their community. The campaign has been rolled out through the Biju Yuva Vahini scheme from the state department of youth welfare board.
The government has planned that a especially crafted ‘Mu Hero Caravan’ will travel to different parts of the gram panchayat and at urban local body level to ensure outreach to the youths from the state.
At many prominent areas they will also be stationed to reach out to more people.
As per the Youth Welfare Board’s instructions to the Collectors, the campaign will see six canters moving through all the blocks over a period of four months in defined routes and will use different modes of communication methods like street plays, folk dance, music, games, theme based extension materials, audio visuals among others to create awareness about the campaign.
According to the plan, the district level committee will select a maximum of 10 nominees, who will be felicitated at the district youth conclave. At the state level, 150 selected local heroes will be felicitated at the State Level Youth Conclave.
