CM unveils projects worth Rs 1,250-cr

Rayagada: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a number of projects adding up to Rs 1,250 crore in Raygada Wednesday.

Patnaik also attended a Mission Shakti Samavesh where he interacted with women self help groups of the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “The mothers of our Mission Shakti are performing well. Zero per cent interest loan is being provided to you. I trust most our women  leaders. For this reason, I have been striving to accord them 33 per cent of reservation in Parliament and assemblies.”

“You know about the KALIA yojana. It is a historic step for the progress and prosperity of farmers. It has shown the way for the entire nation. The KALIA yojana is for small farmers, sharecroppers, landless farmers and farm labourers. Over 30 lakh farmers have reaped the benefits,” he added.

“Some people are spreading rumours that KALIA will be stopped. Those people are always telling lies like this. KALIA amount is yours and your right. Your amount is being given to you. Nobody can stop KALIA,” the Chief Minister assured.

6729 SHGs in the district have received seed money to the tune of over Rs 10 crore, 6735 SHGs have received digital empowerment incentive to the tune of Rs 2.20 crore while 11 block-level SHG Mahasanghs have received financial assistance to the tune of Rs 2.75 crore.

The Chief Minister inaugurated 89 development projects constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 737.42 crore and also laid foundation stones for 48 development projects to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 532.58 crore.
