Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Tuesday distributed Chief Minister’s special assistance to 23,000 families affected by Fani.
Distribution of relief commenced in 66 wards. The BMC distributed relief in five wards of the city Monday when 128 people under Khandagiri-Bharatpur sector were provided assistance. Relief was distributed in pilot wards 15, 22, 23, 24 and 49.
The assistance will be distributed to about 1.02 lakh NFSA beneficiaries. According to sources, these beneficiaries will get Rs 2,000 each as distress assistance and Rs 500 to buy polythene sheets.
All eligible beneficiaries have to produce ration cards to avail relief and the respective ward officers will monitor the activity under the supervision of sector officers. The city has been divided into 13 sectors for smooth conduct of relief and rehabilitation.
