Bhubaneswar: Coal India Ltd, a central public sector undertaking Friday provided Rs 50.32 crore to Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) for the restoration of power infrastructure devastated by the cyclonic storm Fani.
Union coal secretary Sumanta Choudhury presented a cheque amounting Rs 50.32 crore to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Loka Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha Power Transmission Company Ltd, the executing agency to repair the damaged power transmission lines for the restoration of power supply to Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and other command areas had sought the assistance from Coal India Limited (CIL) for the restoration of power supply.
