Cold wave condition likely to prevail till February 10 in these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave condition is very likely to be experienced at one or two places of 18 districts in the state till February 10.

Predicting the severe cold wave condition, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warnings to the districts such as Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada and Nawarangpur.

The weathermen have warned people particularly elders and infants to avoid prolonged exposure to cold.

Similarly, people of the marked districts have been asked to keep their pets and live stocks indoors.

The night temperature recorded at G Udayagiri was 3.4 degree Celsius while 8.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani.

The night temperatures recorded at Cuttack and Bhubaneswar were 14.8 degree Celsius and 17.4 degree Celsius respectively.

Dense fog condition was seen in most parts of Angul district Sunday morning, informed the regional centre of IMD at Bhubaneswar.
