Cold weather sets foot in Odisha; November likely to bring moderate rains

Bhubaneswar: IMD Bhubaneswar Sunday said that five places in Odisha recorded minimum temperature below 15 degree Celcius which can be interpreted as onset of winter in the state.

In last 24 hours, the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius was recorded at Odisha’s Phulbani, IMD Bhubaneswar informed Sunday.

Apart from Phulbani, the mercury dipped below 15 degree Celcius in four other places of the state such as Kirei, Daringibadi, Koraput and Udayagiri.

The weather agency further informed that moderate to dense fog was spread in one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Koraput and Bhadrak.

Over the next two days, dry weather is likely to prevail over the districts of the state.

From 8:30am of Nov 1 to 8:30am of Nov 2: Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, and dry weather very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.

From 8:30am of Nov 2 to 8:30am of Nov 3: Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri and dry weather very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
