Bhubaneswar: The twin city Commissionerate Police Saturday issued an advisory regarding vehicular movement and traffic diversion in view of heavy rush of devotees on occasion of Maha Shivratri being observed at Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar.
The restrictions are imposed to ensure that devotees and commuters do not face any difficulties during their travel.
As per the advisory, vehicles including four and two-wheelers approaching the Lingaraj temple from Rath Road and Punarna gate side will be diverted from Badheibanka square towards BM High school ground for parking. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply on Rath Road from Mausima Temple Square side.
Visitors coming from Kedar Gouri Temple and Sanitarium Square side can avail of Koti Tirtha lane via Kacherapindi Square and park their vehicles at the vacant space on northern side of Ananta Basudev Temple or at the rear side of Taranga Club. Three-wheeler owners can park vehicles at the available space near rear side of Ananta Basudev Temple.
Vehicular movement through Koti Tirtha lane will be one-way from Sidhi Mandap Lane’s side. Four and two-wheelers coming from Samanatrapur will be allowed via Sri Ram Nagar only and diverted towards the northern side of Ananta Basudev Temple and the rear side of Taranga Club for parking. Three-wheelers can be parked at the available space near the rear side of Ananta Basudev Temple.
Buses from Samantarapur’s side will be parked inside BMC new market complex. Vehicles coming from Keuta Sahi side towards Lingaraj Temple will be diverted from Kedar lane to BMC market complex/ Ananta Basudev Temple parking and other designated parking places via sub-station square.
Lastly, vehicles moving from Tara Sundari road towards Lingaraj Temple will not be allowed up to Badheibanka Chhak and will be diverted from Municipality Hospital to BM High school ground for parking.
It is advised to follow the traffic diversions and cooperate with the police for a safe and hassle-free visit to Lingaraj Temple.
