Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have taken Akash Kumar Pathak on a four-day remand, informed Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi, Thursday. Notably, Pathak is accused of impersonating himself as managing director of Tata Motors Limited (TML) and duping job seekers and a travel agency. The police will investigate the allegations levelled against Pathak during the remand period.
The signature samples of Akash will be collected and sent to the Handwriting Bureau for examining the authenticity of his signatures on the appointment letters issued by him to job seekers, said Sarangi.
TML had lodged a complaint with the Crime Branch of Odisha Police against Akash accusing him of committing forgery by impersonating as its MD.
The company in its FIR had mentioned that Akash took huge amount of money fraudulently from unemployed youths on the pretext of providing them job in TML.
